 Yosemite National Park is a fantastic place to visit in the winter since there are a fewer tourists at this time of year.  I’ve been going for a number of years, but every year it seems to be a completely different place.  One thing is the same, though, every year new and different advertising specialties or promotional products seem to surface in the Park stores.  You can find everything from t-shirts to coffee cups to pens …. all of the products have been branded with the Yosemite logo and sold at very substantial profit to the Park system.  The Park stores use the Parks logo in conjunction with traditional Promotional Products to promote the park and make substantial profits. Simple inexpensive ideas like this can be very effective, both monetarily and marketing wise.

I was at the grocery store today and I saw that they had rows and rows of ice chests for sale.  After first getting over the fact that it is already March, I realized that this was a smart move.  As it gets closer to Spring and of course, Summer, ice chests become a great item to sell.  People going on picnics at the beach, seeing a concert at the local Bowl, or camping with their friends and families need to invest in an ice chest of some sort.  Why not use it as a marketing tool?  You can get your clients insulated bags with your imprint on it.  That way they are spreading the word about your company and it’s generous and practical methods of advertising. 

I took my daughters to get new shoes last weekend.  At the end of the visit they received red and purple balloons with the name, phone number and address of the shoe store.  There was also an imprinted logo of the store.  What a difference that made in the attractiveness of the balloon.  It is truly an easy and effective way to advertise.

I took my daughters to get their haircut at a great kid’s salon we frequent and my 17 month old saw a balloon.  I asked if she could get a purple balloon to hold, knowing that if I didn’t she would have a huge meltdown.  She was delighted looking at the balloon.  My older child was just as excited to get her balloon as her sister had been.  Something so simple, gave them so much joy.  Of course, that’s when I realized that the balloons were blank.  Here is the perfect opportunity to publicize the company and have its phone number and address all over the valley and they are missing out.  My kids want to carry their balloons all over once they get them.  That helium filled bubble can be the highlight of their trip to the shoe store, the grocery store, or the hair salon.  Why not use the empty canvas as a place to advertise your business and get free publicity from a child enjoying her balloon.

The year is flying by.  February is here and Valentine’s day will be here before you know it.  Shopping for Valentine’s day gifts is an easy thing to do…they are everywhere, from your grocery store to the flower shop to the book store.  You can easily find interesting products to share with your loved one.  For instance, check out the whimsical pucker up birds that were available on the Garden Fun website.  Why not take your individual gifts a step further and send out a personalized gift from your business.  There are all sorts of imprinted valentine products that would send the perfect message to your clientele.  There are all sort of sweet treats, from boxes of chocolate to bags of candy to heart shaped balloons, that can help you spread the love.  It’s the perfect opportunity to show your business associates how much you love doing business with them.

Recently, my son & his wife took their 2 kids to Chicago for a family event.  As you might imagine, the luggage far outnumbered the four of them.  They had car seats, strollers, and bags and bags of warm clothes, dressy clothes, and whatever else they felt necessary for their week long vacation.  And of course, when they finally did arrive to Chicago, the airline had lost their luggage.  What would have helped make this situation easy for the airline (and my kids, had their luggage arrived) would be colorful specialized luggage tags that would be easy to spot.  What a great gift for the holiday season when many people go on vacation with their families.  Not only are you providing a practical gift, you are advertising to everyone who sees your brightly colored luggage tag.
