 Yosemite National Park is a fantastic place to visit in the winter since there are a fewer tourists at this time of year.  I’ve been going for a number of years, but every year it seems to be a completely different place.  One thing is the same, though, every year new and different advertising specialties or promotional products seem to surface in the Park stores.  You can find everything from t-shirts to coffee cups to pens …. all of the products have been branded with the Yosemite logo and sold at very substantial profit to the Park system.  The Park stores use the Parks logo in conjunction with traditional Promotional Products to promote the park and make substantial profits. Simple inexpensive ideas like this can be very effective, both monetarily and marketing wise.

We’re in the process of selling our house, which got me thinking about all the marketing materials that realtors distibute to generate business.  Twice today, I needed a pen and when I reached into my purse, I pulled out the custom imprinted pen that my realtor gave us when we signed our listing with her.  What a great item, I thought.  It’s a good pen, it’s practical, and it’s mobile.  It has her name, company information, and even her picture on it.  She’s also given us notepads, magnet calendars and other imprinted products.  It’s definitely a profession that requires a lot of self promotion to separate yourself from everyone else. 

Have you ever met somebody or be helped by somebody that you wanted to show your appreciation to? I travel the world over, and always carry custom imprinted pens with me. They might be considered an advertising specialty or promotional product, but when I have them custom imprinted with my name and “Thank you” in English and the local language, they are perceived as what they are - a custom imprinted pen made especially to say “Thank you.”

On our recent trip to Africa we found that the better equipped hotels offer the special conveniences that travelers often need and appreciate plus get the benefit of advertising from their gift of imprinted promotional products or advertising specialties. Custom imprinted pens are a hotel favorite and are a sure way to have your information spread the world over. Lets not forget that imprinted plastic bags for your laundry or sewing kits with their custom imprint are also advertising specialties or promotional products that everybody wants and appreciates. Most importantly is that these products will get the hotel message spread though out world at a very minimal cost.

I just had a great meal at a fantastic restaurant and when they gave me the check the waiter left a “beat up” pen. Wouldn’t a custom imprinted, inexpensive but yet classy pen with the restaurant’s name on it have been the ideal thank you. The waiter could have given me the pen to sign my check and to take home as a souvenir.
